Maybe you could use a hidden worksheet and formulas to bring back the values
from the other workbook. Then use that range as your source for the data|validation cell?? Or you could add a macro that runs when the file is opened that opens that other file, extracts the data and pastes it into that hidden sheet, then closes the other file. drop-down list data wrote: Hi, I am trying to create drop-down list, which source data are in different workbook and data of list will be changing. so i created name "ano" that refers to area in my data workbook (link used: =data_pro_eliminaci.xls!_anone). data_pro_eliminaci.xls is my data workbook _anone is name of area in data workbook I want to refer to. When I am trying to make drop down list I refer to name "ano". Drop down menu is working normaly this way, items are the same like in data workbook an they are changing according to changes in data workbook. Problem is, when I close data workbook, drop down menus are death, without any data. Any idea how to solve this? M. -- Dave Peterson |
