I cannot print a full sheet of lines and cells unless I put an entry in them

I'm guessing you want to print blank cells?

First select a range you want with lines, then...

Just use Format Cells Border
Or
Use the Borders tool on the toolbar and select all borders
to put lines around your selected area.

Use View-Page Break Preview to adjust the printable area.
