subtotal grouping levels do not display on a filtered list

=subtotal() respects the cells hidden by an autofilter.
I think I'd just use those outlining symbols (to the left of the row numbers) to hide details. (I've taken to removing the autofilter on worksheets that have data|subtotal applied.
