Default date functions for previous 60/90/180 days

If posted before please direct me to the post.
I hope I can explain this clearly. I am experienced but not an expert in
excel.
I have 24 worksheets in 1 workbook for 24 months. We use it as our duty log
for each month. I am trying to figure a way to calculate dates for the
preceding 60/90/180 days from the current Day. Currently I have it just
figuring the preceding 3/6 months or 12 months. The days are just listed in
Col 1 starting at Row 9 as 1, 2, 3...31 in that column. Should I change
those to Dates/Days and if so Is there a way to have them show just the
1,2....31 ...
Also when 2006 comes around I will be making new workbooks for the new year
instead of adding another 12 into the current file. Can the new workbook be
linked to the old data and if so how?
I know this is alot to ask for but again when it comes to the advanced
functions I am a rookie.

Now with all that said. If it would be easier for someone to help by seeing
the file. Please email me at
brianbranch at sbcglobal.net
and i would be happy to send it to you.

Thanks ALOT in advance for any help.

Try using this, I use the TODAY() funciton to return the date today:
For 60 days before a certain date:
=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),DAY(TODAY())-60)

As far as linking 2 workbooks together, all you have to do is click in a
cell in your new workbook, type the = sign, click over to your old workbook
and choose the cell you want it to reference. Excel will automatically enter
the location of the file on your hard drive, sheet name, and cell for you.

Does that help?

That would work, but now my problem is that it wouldnt know exaclty what
dates its looking for (I think). The cell I would be referencing is just the
previous months cell. That cell is just =sum(the column above it). THis might
just be more work then its worth. But since I am going to be making a new
workbook for the new year I would like to figure it out.

Is it possible for me to send you a copy of the file and have you take a
look at it? I can put notes in it for the areas I am speaking of.

As for the linking Yes that helped and Thank You for your quick response.
