Are you aware that this is an *array* formula?
Array formulas are entered using CSE, <Ctrl <Shift <Enter, instead of the regular <Enter, which will *automatically* enclose the formula in curly brackets, which *cannot* be done manually. -- HTH, RD ============================================== Please keep all correspondence within the Group, so all may benefit! ============================================== "Shawn K." <Shawn wrote in message ... Comparing a value to a list of values does not work in Excel 2003.

You need to enter it with ctrl + shift & enter
