![]() I have stumbled across a scenario that allows my users to paste data into a locked cell on a protected worksheet. If anyone knows a fix I would appreciate it! Running Excel 2000 SP-3 1) Create a merged, locked cell and protect the sheet. 2) Copy an unlocked cell to the clipboard 3) Paste the cell into the locked merged cell. Excel allows the paste! I cannot paste a locked cell into the locked merged cell. I cannot type into the locked merged cell. I cannot paste text (say, from Notepad) into the locked merged cell. I cannot paste into locked but not merged cells. I see this behavior whether I lock the two individual cells before I merge them, or lock the merged cell after the merge. I see this behavior on any size or shape merge that I have tried. Problem not limited to my computer -- end users reported this to me. Problem goes away with Office XP, but an upgrade is not an optoin for certain computers. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks! Lee |
