Here is my situation:
I have a pivot table set up and I understand how I can show or hide detail. I have a field for a 'SystemID' and another is for the "UserName". To maintain anomynity of the user's name in a chart, we only want the 'SystemID' to be visible with the data. Yet, we want to use the 'UserName' when we are selecting who's data we want to refresh on the chart. I have the HideDetail enabled for the 'UserName' as well as 'Show Items with no Data', but it does not work. It will only display the ones with data that pertain to the 'UserName'. Yet, when I have these enabled for the 'SystemID' I receive ones without data that I did not select from the 'UserName' field. What am I doing wrong? |

You could add the UserName field to the page area, and select a name.
Then, on the PivotTable toolbar, from the PivotChart menu, choose Hide PivotChart Field Buttons. So are you saying I would have to do this everytime? Is there a way to
select and the data will just not appear after it is refreshed. My users need to use this on a weekly basis so is there a macro that could hide this upon refreshing or something and it would come back the next time the file is opened?
