I need help! When I type this: "01/08/2006" into the cell it automatically changes into date format: "1/8/2006". When I change it back to 'General' formatcellsnumber the cell changes to "38725" . How do I turn off the automatic date format, so that my cell will just contatain "01/08/2006" without changing to the date format???? Thanks |

You could change your windows short date format, too.
Windows start button|Control panel|regional and language settings (winXP) Regional Options tab Click on the Customize button Click on the date tab change that short date format to mm/dd/yyyy (or what you want) wrote: Hi all, I need help!
