I'm trying to create drop-downs using the Validation command. I have a sheet
the has columns of name lists for different city offices. I want to refer the drop-down to the appropriate column in that separate sheet. The command will not allow me to enter another sheet as the source. I've even tried entering the source manually; i.e., ='emp'!B2:B52 and received an error message that lists cannot be created from other sheets. The instructions that I pulled from the web assistant indicates that list can be created in separate sheets or even in separate workbooks ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. If you give that list a nice name, you can do it.
Take a look at Debra Dalgleish's site. http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal01.html#Name Renee Major wrote: I'm trying to create drop-downs using the Validation command.
