Default Sort Columns in Pivot Tables

I have a pivot table that has columns "<5", "5-7", "7-10", "10-12"
and "12". However, when the pivot table comes up, they are out of
order (<5, 12, 10-12, 5-7, 7-10). I can manually rearrange the
columns using the order option, but is there any way to get them to
come out in the correct order? Thanks very much for your help.

You can do this, if you click on the cell that has the header in it eg, "<5",
"5-7", etc.
Then, put the mouse pointer over the border of that cell, it changes from
the default fat cross to a pointer with a 4 arrow compass thingy, click and
drag from here, left or right and this should re-order your columns. This is
permanent until a new category comes in for that field. If this happens,
this gets put at the end (far right).

Hope this helps

Default Sort Columns in Pivot Tables

Thanks, Neil. I guess I wasn't clear. I am creating this file every
morning with new data, so every morning I would have to rearrange
the columns. I was actually asking if there was a way to have the
columns come in in the correct order, without my having to do
anything. I appreciate your help and time.

Maybe you can change the labels to make it easier to sort

00-04
05-07
07-10
10-12
12-99

Another option that worked for me under light testing...

Tools|Options|Custom lists
I added the list in the order that I wanted and my newly created pivottable came
out in that order.
