When using a barcode scanner, I am scanning UPC's into the Crtl F function to
find the UPC in a spreadsheet. When I scan the UPS it is readung it as a whole number and not recognising the 0 at the beginning of the barcode. How do I make Excell read it as a number with the 0 at the beginning? |

format the cell as text, or like this
00000 a cell with the format above that contains 123 will show as 00123 So just put as many zeros in the format as the UPC has digits. ![]() If your number is "096754" use "'096754" that is use ' <<<<< before Zero hence excel will recognise it. " ' " this is one solution or other is as said by others change the format of cell. with regards Excel Power -- ExcelPower ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ExcelPower's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=30964 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=508234 |
