I have a file i use daily. Today I went to open it and Excel returns a
dialogue box that says: "filename.xls cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on is not responding" I also synchronnized this file on my other machines and they all return the same error. I can open the file with notepad but it is text and chiberish. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Running XP SP2 and Office XP on some machines and Office 2003 on others. |

doesn't work. I am running the newer versions of excel. So far notepad is
the only program that can open the file without the read-only dialogue box showing up. The read-only would be okay except excel can not open the file at all. If that file is on a network server, maybe rebooting that server would help.
