Hello all,
I'm having a heck of a time trying to use 'get external data' in Excel. Using Excel 2000. The web page I'm trying to get data from uses cgi and javascript and the main page has checkboxes on it. Once you select a checkbox you hit the "search" button in order to get directed to the data page. Of course, Excel's only catching the url for the first page and when I browse all the way into the data page I get a message back saying I didn't check a box inside Excel. I know there must be a way to get the data. I'm able to cut and paste from the page into Excel and then manually strip all the html junk but it has become a very time consuming proposition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The page I'm going to is: http://hud2.towerauction.net/e17/gen_list/IL.htm and from there check any one (or multiple) checkboxes and click search. The formatted page that comes up is where I'm trying to get to. I'd like to pull that data in, strip all the html, remove all pictures etc., and end up with clean data... ok, easier said than done I know... but isn't that what the experts are for?!? :) Thanks in advance for any help!
