I set up auto filter to sort my names in my company spreadsheet. There are
2254 names and all of there info in the rows. When I click the arrow in the Name column I can only see the names up to the M's (1880 of them) and not the rest of the names down to the Z's. So I want to filter on Motz and his name is not listed in the filter choices. No names beyond Mapps are listed. How can I get my filter choices to show all 2254 names from A-Z to show on the filter choice drop down window? Or is there a cap on how many things this little window will display? |

Per Excel 2002 Help:
"Only the first 1000 unique entries in a list appear when you click the arrow " One way to deal with that would be to insert a column in front of the Names column that's associated with the Names column. The new column would include some kind of restriction, like the first letter of the last name. That way, when autofiltered, you can select a letter from the first column's drop down and the Names column dropdown will display all of the names that begin with that letter. A little more work, but more practical, would be to create letter ranges for the first column: A-F, G-M, etc. Is that something you could work with? *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP-Pro "Darrell" wrote: I set up auto filter to sort my names in my company spreadsheet.
