Default Autofilter to search characters that begin with "* "

I'm having difficulty getting Autofilter to work with text that begins with
"* ". It appears that * is a wild card, but I don't want to search that
way. Any suggestions?

So..you're trying to use a custom filter within Autofilter?

Use Begins with and then, in the text box, precede the asterisk with a tilde

~*
