We cannot type the mathematical equation for standard deviation without the X
bar symbol. Does anyone know if there is one available?

You can use the Microsoft equation editor from within Excel.

Alternately, you can look for a font that contains that symbol (a font
newsgroup would likely be able to give more specific information). It
has been reported that the Math Ext font contains the Xbar symbol. If
you have old MS CD's you might find it there

xbar is Alt-0214 in the Math Ext font from
http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/wptoword.html

xbar is Alt-0120 in the MS Reference 1 font
