Thanks Dave but I don't have Excel Workbook as a choice in the object type

I'd cheat. I'd create a workbook and save it (and close it).

I've seen (in xl2003) a worksheet "inside" a Userform on a worksheet. The
spreadsheet contol is in the toolbox to add click on -- Other Controls; look for Microsoft excel Ver 11.0, select, OK out. The add it inside a Userform you've created.
