using: winxp and ms office97

When I switch to chinese input in excel spreadsheet, the chinese characters
could be show on the bar for selection, but when I select the word, it will
be showed some unknown symbol in the spreadsheet.

But ms word & powerpoint have not such problem, tried to re-install whole ms
office, but problem still occur.

any problem in winxp ???
