![]() I have been having trouble frequently with formulas appearing as literal text in the cell instead of a formula with a result. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong? -- carlossaltz ------------------------------------------------------------------------ carlossaltz's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24205 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=383966 |

The cell you're working in is probably formatted as text. Try changing
the format to something appropriate. |

If you are entering the formula correctly as in =2+5 and you see =2+5 it
would mean one of two things. 1. You have "View Formulas" set on in that file. Hit CTRL + `(back quote) to turn off formula view. 2. The cells were pre-formatted as Text. Re-format to General then F2 and ENTER each cell.
