Default SUMIF

I have a worksheet with a list of part #'s and quantities. I have another
sheet totalling all the quantaties because the same part number is listed
multiple times. My formula is:
=SUMIF(RELEASE3!$B$4:$B$1301,B5,RELEASE3!$G$4:$G$1 301)

My problem is this:
I can have part # 15301756, and part # 15301756-5003. But this formula
considers this the same part #. Can someone help me fix this please. Thank
you very much in advance.

What do you mean by

" But this formula considers this the same part #. "?

Are you saying that if you put 15301756 in B5 or if you put 15301756-5003 in
B5 you'll get the same answer? Me thinks not! Not possible unless it happens
that they
both returned the same result by a coincidence
