how to bypass by breaking the reference into multiple
smaller references to save internal values, is there another way to do it "Charles Williams" wrote: If its on Excel saves the values it has read from the external links with the workbook that contains the links. This enables Excel to recalculate the workbook without going back to the external file. I recommend leaving it ON, but you could try turning it off and seeing how that works for you. The not enough memory message is caused by too many external links (max is 16000 in a single reference: bypass by breaking the reference into multiple smaller references) see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=214342 regards Charles ______________________ Decision Models The Excel Calculation Site. www.DecisionModels.com "Hargrove" wrote in message ... What exactly is Save External Link Values, and is it necessary for linked files? I keep getting a message that says 'Not enough memory'....'unable to save external link values'. Before I turned it off, I'd like to know what I'm doing to the workbook. The help files don't seem to have anything on it, or it's listed in some obscure way. |
