I realize I can do CTRL-A, DATA SORT ... but that's a lot more keystroking

Leave a blank row between your header and the data

I figured out that a lot of the cells in row 1 had a single quote character
in position 1 (old way to mark a text field). When I deleted the quote
marks, row 1 became recognizable as a header row.
