Select the sheet using ctrl + a, then copy and paste, if you have formulas
that you don't want to link to the original sheet replace the = in the
formulas with a unique string like r=, thendo the copying and paste, then
reverse and replace r= with = on both sheets

I am able to copy/paste words in the worksheet. Perhaps I'm using the wrong
terms. I realize formulas are not what I need. "Formats" are what I would
like to copy. Column widths, and row heights. I would like the second
sheet to LOOK LIKE the first one in all respects. Thank you.

Hello k-cess,

Control+a, click format painter button (looks like a paintbrush), switch to
second sheet, click in upperleftmost cell.

IanRoy

What if you don't want to copy the entire sheet, but just want the top few
rows, to use like a header, with specific column widths, and specific row
heights that are different? This method will not work. Even
selecting/copying the rows, with the format painter, will only get the row
height, but not the column widths.

Hi kb,

Control+a, control+c, select the sheet you wish to paste into, control+v.
Headers and Footers will not be transferred with this method.

"Control V" come in? what is it?
thank you, kb/k-cess

Thank you... it almost worked... however, the row heighths did not come thru.
I am now k-cess, and kb... (somehow I am a newbie, and acquired 2 names.) I
also sent another reply, but it got an error... so if you get two from me...
that is what happened. PS... where does "Control V" come in? what does it
mean? kb

Guess what!!!!! Now for some reason it works!!!! I believe it is because I
am now using the mouse to select the first cell up top left. A1... maybe I
had not become an active part of the worksheet? (by selecting / inserting
into a cell????)
thank you again!!!!!

I'm just going by memory, but I think what you need to do
is select the whole worksheet first by clicking in the
control cell at the upper left corner of the worksheet
(does not have any reference, it's perpendicular to the A
Column and the 1 Row) then do your copying!

Try clicking in the upper left hand corner of the sheet to highlight the
entire sheet.
Then do the copy command
Then open the workshhet in to which you want to copy
Then click paste speacial (default choice is "ALL" which is ok
Say OK

I just went through the same thing and this seems to work. You may have to
do "view", Page Break View", then back to "Normal View" in order to see that
the page breaks are showing to make sure all is ok

Do know about "grouping" worksheets? This allows you to make changes in one
sheet that are reproduced in all the "grouped" sheets. Don't forget to turn
off the "gouped" sheets when you are done.
