Default old xls file on cd

I have a cd with an XLS file on it and it can't be read on my new Windows XP
computer.

What is it that can't be read.......the CD or the Excel file?

Have you tried other CD's and WindowsXP can read them?

Are you trying to open the file directly from the CD?

If the CD can be read, copy the file to hard drive then try to open from
there.

If the CD cannot be read, perhaps a WindowsXP news group would be more in
order.

Do you have Excel installed in your computer? Excel is not a part of
WindowsXP. You must have Excel or an Excel reader program installed to open
an .xls file. HTH Otto
