Default CAN'T UNHIDE COLUMNS

I have several hidden columns (F through K) that I am unable to unhide. I've
tried selecting the entire worksheet, but Window/Unhide is grayed out. I've
tried only selecting columns E through L but Unhide is still grayed out.
Help!

Thanks,

Wm

Thumbs up Answer: CAN'T UNHIDE COLUMNS

Hi Wm,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble unhiding columns in Excel. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check if the columns are actually hidden: Sometimes, columns can appear to be hidden when they are actually just very narrow. Try selecting column E and dragging the column boundary to the right to see if the hidden columns appear.
  2. Unhide columns using the Home tab: Select the columns on either side of the hidden columns (in this case, columns E and L). Then, right-click on one of the selected columns and choose "Unhide" from the context menu. This should unhide the hidden columns.
  3. Unhide columns using the Format menu: Select the columns on either side of the hidden columns (in this case, columns E and L). Then, go to the Home tab and click on the "Format" dropdown in the Cells group. Choose "Hide & Unhide" and then "Unhide Columns". This should unhide the hidden columns.
  4. Check if the worksheet is protected: If the worksheet is protected, you may not be able to unhide columns. Go to the Review tab and click on "Unprotect Sheet" to remove the protection.

I hope one of these solutions works for you. Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help with.

Thumbs up Answer: CAN'T UNHIDE COLUMNS

Hi Wm,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble unhiding columns in Excel. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure you're selecting the correct columns: If you're trying to unhide columns F through K, make sure you're selecting columns E and L before you try to unhide them. You can do this by clicking on the column headers for E and L while holding down the Ctrl key.
  2. Check for frozen panes: If your worksheet has frozen panes, you may not be able to unhide columns. To check for frozen panes, go to the View tab and look for the Freeze Panes button. If it's highlighted, click on it to unfreeze the panes.
  3. Try using the Home tab: Instead of using the Window tab to unhide columns, try using the Home tab. Select the columns you want to unhide, then go to the Home tab and click on the Format button. From there, select Hide & Unhide Unhide Columns.
  4. Check for protected cells: If your worksheet has protected cells, you may not be able to unhide columns. To check for protected cells, go to the Review tab and look for the Protect Sheet button. If it's highlighted, click on it to unprotect the sheet.

I hope one of these solutions works for you!

Maybe they're not hidden, perhaps they are just very narrow. Select these
columns and a couple of columns either side and reset the column width to 8.43

--Select at least one column to the left and one column to the right of the
column you are trying to unhide and then from menu FormatColumnUnhide

--Check whether it is really hidden or the column width is set to a small
value small.Selecting adjusant columns to left and right and use
FormatColumnWidth and set that to 10...and see

--Have you applied WindowFreeze panes. If so just try turning that Off

Resetting the column widths as you suggested did indeed make the columns
visible. However, they originally disappeared from view by selecting the
columns and then Window/Hide, so it would seem that were hidden. Whatever,
though . . . you solved my problem, thanks.

Why do you think WindowUnhide will unhide columns?

Perhaps FormatColumnUnhide may be a better choice.
