Is there a bug in Microsoft Excel 2003 (11.8302.8221) that prevents a row
from going beyond 260??? I can manually change the row height but when I have like bolded, underlined text, I don't think the formatting has anything to do with it, the cell doesn't grow any more and even if I manually change the row height, it is creating space at the top of the cell rather than the bottom of the cell. So some of my underlined, bolded text at the bottom is not readable. Boy I hope i am being clear. This bugs me and I am wondering if it is indeed a bug. My cell is set-up to wrap text, but it does have some hard coded <Alt<Enter breaks in there as well. I appreciate anyone's review and response and Thanks in advance. PSULionRP |

I have not heard of a bug in this area.
My Excel 2003 allows 409 pts, which is maximum according to Specifications in help. Sometimes I cannot see all the text due to being over the 1024 character limit(although the Alt + Enters can increas that limit) But you are saying that you cannot FormatRowHeight and get more than 260 pts to hold? I used <Alt<Enters after each sentence rather than depending on the Word
Wrap and that seemed to do the trick. I then manually adjusted the row height, to 330, and all the text is now displayed. Thanks for your feedback Gord. Hi PSULionRP
from the description given by you, one possibility, which relates to second half of your problem, is that the cells have been formatted to show text at the bottom. click on format-cells-alighment- in Vertical - select "centre" and mostly your second half problem will be solved. for the first half, hmm click yes below, if it helps "PSULionRP" wrote: Is there a bug in Microsoft Excel 2003 (11.8302.8221) that prevents a row from going beyond 260??? the cell doesn't grow any more and even if I manually change the row height,
I don't find any such bug in the excel 2003 . i tried each & everything to cheat the excel, but it is very smart in this regard, subject to certain stipulations, i. e. -click on format, cells, alighment, vertical - select "centre" -click on format, cells, alighment, text control - select "wrap text" and then only enter the text or edit the same. it works fine. click yes below, if it works for you "PSULionRP" wrote: Is there a bug in Microsoft Excel 2003 (11.8302.8221) that prevents a row from going beyond 260???
