A1 contains 5 with red background.
If I type in another cell, "=A1" then how can I force the new cell to show the 5 in red background? |

A formula can only return a result, not a format.
If that red background is the result of conditional formatting, however, you can apply the same CF rules to the destination cell to get the same effect. Hope this helps. Thanks mate - so I guess I just have to keep writing macro after macro to get
