Default CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

CAN I MAKE THE COLOR OF SEVERAL CELLS WITHIN A ROW CHANGE BY CHANGING A
CHARACTER WITHIN ONE?
EXAMPLE: A4 WILL BE EITHER AN "H" OR A "C". IF A4 IS AN H, THEN A4, A2, A3
AND A5 WILL CHANGE COLOR. IF A4 IS A "C", THEN THEY WILL ALL CHANGE TO A
DIFFERENT COLOR.
SHOULD A4 BE BLANK, THEN NO COLOR WOULD BE DISPLAYED.

First, turn off your CAPS LOCK. ALL CAPS IS MUCH HARDER TO READ THAN
Mixed Case AND IT GENERALLY IS INTERPRETED AS IF YOU WERE SHOUTING!

One way:

Select A2:A5. Choose Format/Conditional Formatting...

CF1: Formula Is =A$4="H"
Format1: Pattern/Color1

CF2: Formula is =A$4="C"
Format2: Pattern/Color2
