After applying SP1 for Office 2003, the close (X) is greyed out.
Prior to SP1 it was available. Did SP1 break this or did one of the many patches break it. How can we fix it?? -- MAL |

Sounds like the old "groupwise" problem. SP1 may have reset something that was turned off previously. If just "grayed out", could be you have GroupWise loaded. If that's the problem. See this MSKB article http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;260199 Article is specific for 2000 but I think it is valid for other versions. It gives a workaround (use the file menu) and instructions as to how to remove the Groupwise add-in that is responsible for this behavior. Gord:
We do not use Group Wise. We use Lotus Notes. I did do a search for any gw*.xla files on the pc however none were present. How about the DMS? We are using Hummingbird DM5.1.0.5 "Gord Dibben" wrote: MAL Sounds like the old "groupwise" problem. SP1 may have reset something that was turned off previously. I assume you are talking about the Excel close and not the workbook close "X" I am running 2003 with SP1 and cannot replicate your problem of the grayed out close "X" I am not familiar with Hummingbird. Cannot offer any other ideas. Sorry about that. Hang around, could be someone will assist. Gord On Fri, 1 Apr 2005 05:05:07 -0800, MAL wrote: Gord: We do not use Group Wise. We use Lotus Notes.
