Default cell problem

I have a user that when she drags the mouse to select mulitple cells it does
just that. Then she tries to select a single cell and Excel selects multiple
ones and locks up on her. Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to fix this?

She may be in EXTENDED mode.

Id using Excel 2007 I believe this is a bug.............can't recall what
the fix for this is.
