Hello,
I have installed the 60 days trial version of 2007 to run alongside 2003 on a client's PC. If she double clicks on an Excel file (Word also) I would like it to automatically open in the 2003 version. I only want 2007 to open if she purposely chooses it from the Start menu. Thanks in advance Judith |

From Start-Run enter "<full path to Excel 2003\Excel.exe /regserver" (no
quotes, there is a space before the slash). This 're-registers' Excel 2003 as the owner of XLS and other files Excel 2003 knows about. It should not affect the new 2007 file types like XLSX. -- Jim "JudithJubilee" wrote in message ... | Hello, | | I have installed the 60 days trial version of 2007 to run alongside 2003 on | a client's PC. | | If she double clicks on an Excel file (Word also) I would like it to | automatically open in the 2003 version. I have forgotten how to do this - someone will tell you soon. I think you
use /unreg and /reg in two Run path\excel.excel.exe commands. BUT be aware that after opening one version of Word, when you go to open the other (at any time) there will be a looooong wait. This is not the case with Excel. best wishes "JudithJubilee" wrote in message ... Hello, I have installed the 60 days trial version of 2007 to run alongside 2003 on a client's PC. How about:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Excel.exe" \regserver Those spaces are very important! JudithJubilee wrote: Cheers for answering so quickly!!!
