Default COMPATIBILITY PACK FOR 2007 FILE FORMATS

I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word,
Excel and Powerpoint 2007 file formats. When I make changes to an existing
excel spreadsheet (Excel 2002 SP3) , save & close the spreadsheet, then try
to open that spreadsheet again, I can't get back into the spreadsheet. I get
the following message: The document may be read-only or encrypted.

As the message says so. Kinda straightforward guess that a separate
"Encryption pack" may be needed.<g
Not yet tried 2007 version.
