Try holding down the CTRL key and using the mouse wheel

I tried that and it didn't work. Using Tools/Options/General Tab
There is a setting for Zoom on roll with IntelliMouse Checking this allows to zoom using Mouse wheel - for me anyway Try that - another option is to try a different mouse if you have one spare?
