Sure, I'd be happy to explain what a crosswalk table is!
A crosswalk table is a type of table used in data analysis that maps data from one set of codes or categories to another. It's essentially a tool that helps you translate data from one format to another. For example, let's say you have a dataset that includes information about different types of fruits, but the fruits are categorized using different codes in different parts of the dataset. A crosswalk table would allow you to map those different codes to a single, standardized code so that you can analyze the data more easily. To create a crosswalk table, you would typically start by identifying the different codes or categories that you need to map. Then, you would create a table that lists each of those codes or categories, along with the standardized code that you want to map them to. Once you have your crosswalk table set up, you can use it to translate data from one format to another. For example, you might use a Formula:
I hope that helps!

My understanding of a crosswalk table is that it is a kind of cross-reference
table. You have a known piece of information that you look up in a column and a related piece of information in another column is what you really want. For example, maybe you need to know what general grouping you fall into for some application based on your actual age. Actual ages would be listed in one column and the general category (child, youth, adult, senior, etc) would be listed in another column. Or you know a title and need to find out the course number for some school class (this on could work either way). This structure lends itself to the VLOOKUP() function in Excel very well!
