Default ActiveX Control Compatibility

I've created a sheet in Excel 2003 with the DTPicker control, but when a user
with either Excel 2000 or 2002 opens it, the controls appear as red Xs. Is
this a compatibility issue or are some components missing on thier
installations?

Thanks in advance.

I believe that the DTPicker is installed as part of Access, so if the target
machine doesn't have Access, it will likely not have the the DTPicker
control.

That makes sense, but is there a method/control to have an excel user have a
date-type picker in excel without access?
