I wish to have the Bottom of the work sheet have less columns than the top,
is there a 'break' or 'section break' that I can use to separate the two halves of the work sheet with different formating |

Nope.
You could fiddle with merged cells so it looks like there's a difference, but merged cells can really mess up other stuff. I'd suggest that you use a separate worksheet. It'll make life much easier in the long run.
