Hi,
I'm thinking of buying Office 2007, but unsure whether to buy Professional or Home & Student. I'm mainly concerned that the Excel I get with the Home & Student won't have the full functionality as the Professional edition. I seem to recall, for example, that the Excel Pro from Office 2003 had some XML capabilities that the standard version didn't. Is the same true for Office 2007? Does anyone know where I can find out the differences between the different Excel versions? Cheers Gromit |

For feature comparison of Office 2007 versions:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...635841033.aspx Note that H&S version for 2007 only includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. Traditionally, owning the H&S version does NOT qualify you for upgrade pricing on future versions. For feature comparison between Excel in the Office 2007 versions: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...757151033.aspx For the purpose of that article, I would assume that the version with H&S would have the same features as Standard. Thanks,
That helps a lot - I didn't know about the future upgrade qualification issue. I think H&S is the one for me because I don't need Outlook (we use Lotus Notes). And, it seems like you have to go up to Professional Plus before seeing any changed to Excel's capabilities (Excel Pro seems the same thing as Excel H&S). Cheers Gromit |
