Default Count Auto-filter results

I have a schedule of resources assigned to projects. I have a filter that
filters out contracted and non-contracted projects. At the bottom of the
sheet I have a countif function that counts the number of resources scheduled
for each week for all projects and then I have a formula that translates that
into hours. I would like when I autofilter the contracted projects - for the
countif function to count only the resources for the projects shown from the
autofilter. That would in turn recalculate the hours based off those
resources.
Any suggestions? See below.

Contract? Project Resource Name Jan Feb Mar
Apr May ...
Y Client 1 B.SMITH 1 1
1 1
N Client 2 N.TAYLOR 1
1 1

# of Res 1 2
1 1 2
Hrs 320 640
320 320 640

checkout the SUBTOTAL function in Excel Help. It can operate on the visible
rows and ignore the rows filtered out.
