Default Removing `named range“ from worksheet

I have an existing spreadsheet (ss) which has numerous worksheets with
named ranges on them. I'd like to REMOVE the named ranges without
deleting the VALUES in the cells. The RANGES are presently linked to
exterior text files. Please advise!!

Also.. would like to make NEW named ranges of cells afterwards.

I think you want to paste the values into the cell rather than the reference.
If use use ocpy then paste special (in the edit menu) you can select value.
You may want to keep the old values, so I would add a new column, then hide
the old column so you don't loose the refernce information.
