I have two excel files which contain our archiving information. For some
reason people have been using both to enter data. Is there anyway that I can merge the two file so that both have the same data but does not loose data from either file. Help |

The only way I know to do something like this is completely manual.
Tell people to stop populating both workbooks--no changes until you're done! Then set up each worksheet so that the columns are in the same position and same order. Insert empty columns or move columns if you need to. Then copy and paste the data from one into the other. Then do lots of sorts to put the similar rows near each other. And then eyeball each group to determine which field from which row should be kept. It ain't fun. Good luck. Lucylou wrote: I have two excel files which contain our archiving information.
