ERROR
 

Hi, i am using office 2000 and when i try and load Excel, i get the following
error:

Preparing to install...Please wait while window configures microsoft office
2000 premiere.

On this error message, there is a CANCEL button.

Even before i press CANCEL, i get another following error:

ERROR 1706. No valid source could be found from product microsoft office
2000 premiere. The windows installer cannot continue.

This error message is accompanied with a OK button, after pressing the OK
button, i get the following error message:

Fatal error during installation.

Like the previous error message, the message has a OK button, after
pressing, i return to the desktop, with nothing loaded.

can anyone help.

It sounds like Excel was installed to load from the CD the first time you
used it. Try putting the Office 2000 CD in the drive before you try running
it.
