![]() I was unsuccessful using the bottom advice. I run "microsoft office standard edition" 2003 and Windows XP Home Edition. I only get as far as "Change". Add / Remove features doesn't come up then. garfield-n-odie Wrote: There is a .wb1 converter on your Office 2003 CD, but not in the Office converter pack. To install all of the optional converters on the CD, click on Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Office 2003 | Change | Add/Remove Features | expand "Microsoft Office" | expand "Office Shared Features" | click on the little black triangle to the left of "Converters and Filters" and select "Run All from Computer" | Update. When I attempt to open the files, I get a message which says that "the file format isn't supported, or the converter isn't installed". Since the documentation says that this format is supported, I assume that the problem is that the converter isn't installed. After doing some searching, I find advice which says that I should use "Add Programs" in the Control Panel to add the converter. But when I do this, there are no options for installing any spreadsheet converters. Using the on-line documentation, I then find advice to go to the download site to look for additional converters. Following the instructions there, I downloaded and installed the office converter pack. Despite doing this, I still can't open up the *.wb1 files. How do I verify that the converter is installed? What else can I do to open that file? (It seems to me that I used to be able to do this kind of conversion all the time in Office 97.) - -- convert quattro |
