I am tryin to open files on a cd , files are excel spreadsheet xls

did you go to the drive letter of your cd drive (via 'my computer') and
double left click on the file name? This normally will open up Excel and then the file. Or open up Excel then 'file'...'open' and find the filenames on the CD drive. "sadlebags" wrote: I am tryin to open files on a cd , files are excel spreadsheet xls |

Yes I tried this, the file opens , but cant read, just asks if I want to find
answer on the internet. "tim m" wrote: did you go to the drive letter of your cd drive (via 'my computer') and double left click on the file name? This normally will open up Excel and then the file. You say you are trying to open from CD

This did not work, should I have to download a program to do this?

You are saying you never had Excel installed before you asked your original
question? That might have been important information to pass along at that time.
