I have created a line chart where I need for the axis labels and title to be
changeable according to the contents of certain cells. I have achieved this on the title and 'X' axis by using a text box, and linking it to the cell in question. Does anyone know how I can do the same for the 'Y' axis, but have the text rotated 90 degrees so that it runs parallel to the 'Y'axis line? |

Hi Neil,
If you are using a line chart then you should be able to specify the cells to use for the category labels. Right click the chart and pick Source Data. On the series tab there is a input box for specifying the labels. Once you have the labels you can double click the axis and on the Alignment tab of the format dialog is an option to rotate the text. You can link the chart title and axis title directly to cells using the same technique as the textboxes but without have to use additional textboxes. Neil -
Alignment is a simple formatting setting. Are you talking of the Y axis title, ot the tick labels? To link a chart title, X or Y axis title, or data label to the value in a specific cell, select the text element in the chart, press the = key, and click on the appropriate cell with the mouse. If you meant the Y axis ticks, try the technique on this page: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/Y_CategoryAxis.html - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com/ _______ Neil wrote: I have created a line chart where I need for the axis labels and title to be changeable according to the contents of certain cells.
