Default Axis title

I need to make titles to axis in a chart. Help tells med to use Chart Tools,
but this in not an option on my tool bar.

Hi,

I guess the reference to Chart tools is for those with xl2007.

If you have xl2003 or older you can do the following.
Select the chart and Right click. From the popup menu chose Chart Options...
On the Titles tab you can enter your text for the appropriate part of the
chart.

I have just changed to 2007, that's my problem...cannot find anything
anymore...!!

Default Axis title

Okay,

Select your chart. This will cause a contextual menu to appear along side
the existing tabs on the Ribbon.
The contextual menu is labeled Chart Tools. Within that are 3 contextual
tabs. Design, Layout and Format.
Select the Layout tab. This will display various groups on the ribbon
labeled, Current Selection, Insert, Labels, Axes, Background, Analysis and
properties.
Within the Labels group is a dropdown button labeled Axis Titles. Here you
can pick which axis to label and how.
Once the axis text box is displayed in the chart you can edit the text as
normal.
