Removing Plot lines between plot points on a line chart
A 2003 file being opened in 2007. Contains a line graph. I wish to remove a
plot line between two points. The lines right now or dotted, when I go through the process of entering into the chart options and click on "No plot line" nothing happens and the dotted lines remain. ANy suggestions? Or is this a converting issue going from 2003 to 2007? |
Answer: Removing Plot lines between plot points on a line chart
It's possible that the issue is related to the conversion from Excel 2003 to 2007, but there are a few things you can try to remove the plot lines between two points on a line chart:
If this doesn't work, you can try selecting the data series in the chart and pressing the Delete key to remove the entire series. Then, re-enter the data and create a new chart without the plot lines. Another option is to right-click on the plot line you want to remove and select Format Data Series. In the Format Data Series dialog box, click on the Line Style tab and select No Line. Click OK to close the dialog box. If none of these options work, it's possible that the issue is related to the conversion from Excel 2003 to 2007. You may want to try opening the file in Excel 2003 and removing the plot lines before saving and reopening in Excel 2007. |
Removing Plot lines between plot points on a line chart
Hi,
Should work. If you just want to hide the line between to points but leave the others visible: 1. Click the series 2. Click the data point on the right end of the line you want to remove 3. Choose Chart Tools, Format, Format Selection, Line Color, No Line You can apply this to all the line in a series by skipping step 2. -- Cheers, Shane Devenshire "JDKapono24" wrote: A 2003 file being opened in 2007.
