Hi Jerry or any interested mathematician,

There is a thread in the General Questions group (excel.misc in newsreaders)
that needs a sharper mind than mine. I helped the OP a month ago to sort out
a linear regression problem but now he seems to be questioning his whole
approach. I've got an idea of where he should change but I think it would be
better handled by someone who knows what they are talking about rather than
me giving my best opinion.
