Hit the FileNew(no ellipsis) to open a new workbook based on your BOOK.xlt in
XLSTART folder

Or hit the New Icon on the Toolbar.

What does your custom formatting look like?

0 will return 01 if one digit entered.

00 will return 011 if two digits entered or 001 if one digit entered.

Do you want a single preceding 0 no matter the length of the numeric entered?

I'm not aware of any way to do that with custom formatting but hang
in.........someone may know how.

Where are you saving the templates?

If you store them in your XLSTART folder as BOOK.xlt and SHEET.xlt they will be
the default New workbook and InsertSheet
