=CHOOSE(WEEKDAY((A1&"/"&B1&"/"&C1)),"Sun"'"Mon","Tue","Wed","Thu","Fri","Sa t")

where A1 having the day
B1 having the month &
C1 having the year

B1 = Jan
C1 = 2006

But this isn't working. Are there any suggestions?
