Default Viewing with dual monitors

I am using excel 2007 with dual monitors, I expand one instance of excel
across both monitors and view two documents at a time (one on each screen).
The problem I am having is sometimes I need to view an email or other program
on one screen but also need to imput data into excel on the other screen
while still being able to view the other program. Currently if I select excel
on the right monitor excel covers up the program I need to view on the left
monitor. Is there a way to accomplish this without running two instances of
excel?

Thanks in advance.

if i understand what you're trying to do, there is no way to give the focus to
"half" of an application. your instance of excel is 1 app and if it has the
focus, any other app will be covered. do like me, i have 3 monitors, 2 24's and
a 28. i use one for excel, one for vba and one for whatever else i need.

Then you need 3 monitors.
